Adapter Options to Tow 5th Wheel Trailer With Multiple Goose Neck-Equipped Trucks
Question:
Just bought a 3500 Ram dually. looking at large equipment trailer for towing my Rock Crawlers 2 approx. weight of both 10,000lbs. I have not purchased the trailer yet, it will be a 5th wheel type not a gooseneck. What would be the best, not necessary the cheapest model kit you would recommend. I would like it to be removable so I can use it in my other truck as well. Thank you.

There are four types of adapters that will allow a goose neck-equipped truck to tow a 5th wheel trailer. These vary considerably in their cost, weight, ride quality, level of safety and in how much stress they can place on the hitch and the trailer's frame. The linked article covers each of these in detail.
If you need the flexibility to easily remove the adapter then you will be looking at a king pin adapter like the Convert-A-Ball # CAB-C5G that you referenced (as long as your 5th wheel does not have a Sidewinder or air-ride pin box).
