Can the Draw-Tite part # 75673 Be Installed by Removing the Bumper
Question:
Can I install this hitch by removing the bumper? and fishing out the bolts through the bumper end instead of drilling the hole. My concern is about the integrity of the chassis, have you encounter any issue about creating a weak spot when the vehicle get rear ended?

What you are referring to actually is the method that Subaru recommends for installing their hitch on your Subaru Outback Wagon. I can't recommend you install this # 75673 hitch in any other way than how Draw-Tite recommends, but there are customers who have left reviews on this hitch who used this method with success so we know it is possible.
I would recommend you install the hitch like the video I attached.
We have heard of no issues of chassis integrity being sacrificed after drilling the installation holes.
