Replacement For 26 Inch Long Double-Eye Trailer Leaf Spring

Question:

Hello! Ive been reading about how leaf springs will flatten over time. I am trying to replace the leaf springs, and it is measuring about 26 inch unloaded. Do I need a 26 inch long spring or round down to a 25.5 inch spring? Thanks!

Hey Ryan,

You're right that leaf springs can flatten a bit over time, but I wouldn't go with a full 1/2 inch less. Something slightly shorter (1/4 inch or so) would be better, but otherwise, I'd stick with the 26 inch springs.

Just a reminder the measurements should be taken center of spring eye to center of spring eye as opposed to the full length, and while we don't have 25-7/8 inch leaf springs, we do have 26 inch springs, the 2,000 lb # e77SR, 4,000 lb # e22YR, and 6,000 lb # e94SR.

You'll want to go with the one that is the same rating or just above whatever your axle capacity is.
