If your 2005 Jeep Liberty has a factory tow package, you could use either the Hopkins harness, # 42475, or the Tow Ready harness, # 118381. The vehicles with a tow package have a factory connector made to add a wiring harness. Both products will perform equally as well.

But if your Liberty did not come with a tow package, you will need to use Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, # 118524. This is a circuit protected powered converter which is required to protect the sensitive electrical system on the vehicle. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you to view.
