Recommended Wiring For Trailer When Tow Bar Wiring Is Present At Tail Lights

Have 2007 Jeep Liberty. It has the tow bar harness connections in rear light assemblies. How do I connect harness to both passenger and driver side rear connectors? There are no electronic brakes on this trailer. Can I connect under the bumper at the connection for the cross over from driver to passenger side that is white?

For your 2007 Jeep Liberty, if you have a t-connector harness like the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118524 which connects behind the driver and passenger side tail lights as you mentioned you will not be able to connect the trailer and the tow bar wiring simultaneously. I've attached a video that shows how we run the wiring behind the rear bumper from side to side and how we run the power to the battery through the frame.

You do have another option however. You can use the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 42475 which plugs into another harness in the rear cargo area of your Jeep Liberty to give you the 4-way functions.
