How Does Blue Ox Patriot Braking System Get Power in 1997 Jeep Wrangler

I am towing a 5 speed 1997 Jeep Wrangler. How does the braking system get power in the Jeep when the ignition is in the Off but unlocked position? The 12v plug is not hot on that key position.

Great question Ben, in situations like this you will need to run an outlet kit directly to the vehicle battery like with the part # RM-9332 which will give you a power source for the Blue Ox Patriot part # BLU37TR.
