Which Rhino-Rack Roof Rack With 63 Inch Tracks For Leer Canopy

Question:

I am trying to figure out which canopy rack I need to buy for my Tacoma and am having a heck of time sorting it out. I have a 6 foot bed with a Leer fiberglass carpeted inside canopy. I plan to mount a 270 degree awning I recently picked up. It would seem my choices are Y02-480B-ST, Y02-490B, Y01-130B. Which would be the better choice? The heavy-duty just seems to have thicker rails but the same weight rating.

Hey there Stormy, I think we can figure this out, as there are a quite a few options. First, let's just discount the heavy-duty rack, as those are just oddly shaped crossbars and there's nothing HD about them (like you mentioned, they have the same weight rating).

That leaves us with the other two that have aero crossbars, though you did mention one with 54 inch crossbars and one with 59 inch crossbars, and I'm not sure which is right for you (measure the width of your canopy and you'll want the bars to overhang just a bit). These each have 63 inch tracks, so the only things you need to know are: 1) the crossbar length you need and 2) the length of the bolt needed to get through the roof of your canopy (how thick it is). Here are the options:

- 54" Bars & 1-3/8" Bolt: Rhino-Rack Aero Bar Roof Rack for Camper Shells # Y02-480B

- 54" Bars & 2" Bolt: Rhino-Rack Aero Bar Roof Rack for Camper Shells # Y02-480B-ST

- 59" Bars & 1-3/8" Bolt: Rhino-Rack Aero Bar Roof Rack for Camper Shells # Y02-490B

- 59" Bars & 2" Bolt: Rhino-Rack Aero Bar Roof Rack for Camper Shells # # Y02-490B-ST
