Are Replacement Locking Knobs Available For The Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack

Question:

I was reading a response regarding the Thule T2 Pro. My issue is the hitch locking knob being stripped and won’t secure the rack into the 2 inch receiver. Is there a replacement for this knob? I can’t seem to find any information on the web or YouTube discussing this problem.

Hi Joh,

Unfortunately the locking knob on the Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # TH69TX isn't replaceable part. It's built into the base/shank in a way that the entire base/shank would have to be replaced as well, essentially making the bike rack as a whole trash. That being said, you can still use the rack, but wouldn't be able to tighten it in the hitch so it would unfortunately rattle.

This apparently has been a big issue for other owners of this rack and I've read that Thule was trying to make it right by offering discounts for other racks so I'd try reaching out to them directly to see what you could get since this isn't just a cheap rack to toss.
