Installing A Drive Wireless RV Backup Camera System On A 2024 Rockwood Geo Pro 20FBS

Question:

I have a 2017 Chev Colorado 4x4 LT pickup and a 2024 Rockwood Geo Pro 20 FBS trailer. Im looking at this camera to use for a rearview and back up. First Question: This trailer has the Furrion Mount on the back, will this model camera mount without drilling? Second Question: Is there any concern about the Chevrolet wiring setup? I saw on the furrion camera listed on etrailer that the PWM wiring system would not work with the furrion. How about the Drive Wireless Camera setup? Thanks for your help, Ive enjoyed picking up items for the truck and trailer at etrailer. Matt

Hi Matt,

The Drive Wireless RV Backup Camera System # 324-000002 would not be compatible with the Furrion mount on the back of your trailer so you'd have to remove it and screw the included mounting bracket to the wall of the trailer. You'd also likely have a hole, or multiple, to fill from the old bracket so I recommend picking up some gasket maker to prevent any water from getting in.

The PWM wiring issue is more so with the truck and not the trailer or camera. Essentially the truck is sending a pulsing current and the cameras are designed to have a constant 12 volts. Not having a constant 12 volts to the camera can lead to connectivity issues, but can be solved with the PWM filter # VGR64VR. This just holds a bit of power to provide a steady stream of 12 volts to the camera so that it can properly operate. With your truck being a 2017 you shouldn't have PWM wiring and wouldn't have to deal with this issue.
