Will a Reese Goosebox Still Allow For Jack Knife Turns Without Hitting Bed Rails With Tonneau Cover

Question:

I pull a 2022 Keystone Cougar 368mbi that came with the rota-flex pin box from the factory. I currently use a BandW companion hitch RAM OEM puck system. My truck is a 2022 RAM 3500 crew cab long bed 4x4. I am considering changing to a Reese Goosebox. My primary concern is if the Goosebox will hit the bed side or tonneau rails when turning at sharp angles. For instance, I get close to 90-degrees when backing up my driveway. Im guessing you cant confirm the tonneau rails because those would depend on the manufacturer and model. However, excluding the tonneau rails, does the Goosebox come close to hitting the bed sides at extreme turn angles? Maybe it depends on the Goosebox generation?

I know several who use the Reese Goose Box # RP94716-61301 with their long bed trucks and are able to make full jack knife turns without issue of hitting their bed rails. As long as your tonneau cover rails do not sit excessively in and above the bed rails you should not have any fitment issues. We do have a ball with a 1" Rise # BWGNXA2050 which will help gain some additional clearance should you find you need it. Do remember you will need a Safety Chain kit # RP49151 as well since you are switching to a ball connection.

To verify which Reese Goose Box # RP94716-61301 or # RP94716 will fit your 2022 Keystone Cougar 368MBI you will need to determine which bolt pattern the pin box uses. This may be in the product ID tag on the Rota-Flex pin box or if you can locate the Lippert LCI frame tag on the mounting arms I can verify it with Lippert.
