Will 2,000 lb Trailer Hub AKIHUB-440-2-G-1K Fit 3 Inch Long Spindle

My bearing spindle is 1” dia x 3” long and uses seal 1.25 x 1.98. I’m seeing the Akihub 440-2-G-1K that uses bearing L44643 to be the correct hub. My issue is the measurement from outside both bearings when assembled not to exceed the 3” length or I lose thread length. Will this hub fit? Thank you

Hey Bruce, thanks for writing in, and unfortunately you have what is called a stub spindle, and it's 3 inch length won't allow you to use the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb Axles - 4 on 4 - Galvanized # AKIHUB-440-2-G-1K.

There isn't a hub we have that can fit onto that short of a spindle, so the best thing we can offer is to replace the spindle with one that will work for you, the BT8 Spindle for 2,000-lb Trailer Axles # TRU94FR.

I fully realize that's a pain and not what you were wanting to hear, but it really is the best way forward for a new hub.

By "oal" I believe you are asking about the overall length; I measured the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly #AKIHUB-440-2-G-1K and found it was 4-1/4" long.
