Would a Press In Bearing Buddy Leak Oil in Trailer Hub

I have a 2002 Ranger Comanche trailer with Cool Hubs. I have lost the cap. Can I use a Bearing Buddy cap and still fill with oil, or will it leak out of the Bearing Buddy cap?

A Bearing Buddy like the part # BB1980A wouldn't leak oil but what would be challenging is filling the hub with oil with the Bearing Buddy installed.

To convert an oil-bath hub to a grease hub all you really have to do is is remove the oil from the hub and replace it with grease like the LMX Red grease #L11390. The cap, seal, and bearings you have now are perfectly compatible with grease.

The correct replacement for the Oil Seal 225255UC is the Oil Seal part #9103309. These both have a 2.24/2.25" inner diameter and 3.37" outer diameter. They are also designed for use with oil bath hubs.

The Dexter hub part #8-247-50UC3-EZ that you referenced is the correct fit for your 2010 Ranger boat trailer as I can tell from your current drum size and bolt pattern this is correct. We don't have a sealed bearing option that fits though.
