Can a Hitch Extender Be Used With The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver on a 2024 Toyota Crown
Question:
Would this work for a bike rack on? if we used a hitch extension aka a stinger bar to extended the hitch out so there is more distance between the car and bike rack.

When you use a Hitch Extender # e88YR with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C77ZV on your 2024 Toyota Crown it is important to remember the extender reduces the receiver weight capacity by 50%. So rather than being able to hold 350lbs it reduces to 175lbs minus the weight of the Extender(12lbs) to get 163lbs maximum for your bike rack and bikes.
With the low ride height of your Toyota I recommend staying away from the hitch extender and selecting the Yakima StageTwo Bike Rack # Y47VR as this is one of the few racks which slopes up away from the ground to help with departure angles on driveways and curbs. Adding an extender with a standard bike rack you will likely end up either draging the rack itself or the bikes in hilly areas.
