Since your 2014 Ford F-250 short bed already has the factory under bed puck system, you can use the Reese Elite Series hitch # RP30144 which will fit directly in the puck system. This hitch offers 10 inches of travel and is rated for 18K gross trailer weight and 4,500 pounds pin weight.

To make sure the 10 inches of travel is enough to safely make 90 degree turns, you will need to do a little measuring. Measure from the area right in the middle of all the pucks to the back of the truck cab and then add 10 inches. his number will have to be at least 4 inches greater than half the width of the front of the 5th wheel trailer to safely make 90 degree turns without hitting the truck and trailer together.

If you do not have enough clearance then you would need to use the fixed version of the hitch, # RP30921, and a Sidewinder on the trailer.

A Sidewinder is going to move the pivot point back on the trailer 22 inches. But to determine if there is a Sidewinder that will fit you will need the pin box manufacturer and model number on a plate or sticker on the actual pin box. Then you can use our Sidewinder help article and the chart at the bottom of its page, linked for you, to determine if there is a Sidewinder that will fit.
