Can Two Fulton Hi-Mount Spare Tire Carriers # FSTC1000301 Be Mounted Together on Trailer Tongue
Question:
Hi, I am thinking about getting 2 of the Fulton # FSTC1000301 and mounting one on each side of the tongue rail, sharing the same mounting bolts. Do you see any issues with this idea? The only thing I was considering would be maybe stronger bolts.

While it is certainly a good idea to carry a second spare tire on your trailer we do not recommend mounting two of the Fulton Hi-Mount Spare Tire Carriers # FSTC1000301 back to back. Apart from the need for some stronger (and unknown) grade of hardware, which you note, there is the concern that the torsional forces applied to the trailer frame from both tire carriers will be concentrated in one spot. We do not recommend this, but instead suggest that you mount the two tire carriers independently and in two different locations on the trailer frame so that their load is more evenly distributed.
