Replacement Brakes For a 2013 Keystone Summerland 2670 Travel Trailer
Question:
I have a 2013 summerland keystone travel trailer. Its 5820 dry and 28foot 11inch long. My front left wheel brake is not functional at all. Im looking to replace it. However, I can only find the 2 1/4 shoe and not the 1 3/4 that I currently have. Will a 2 1/4 fit my current hub or do I need the new hub as well? Also, will this fit my current axle set up and bearing by increasing the size? A local shop wants 700+ for one wheel and one brake. Id like to do both sides to keep it even. Thanks for any help.

I'm going to recommend upgrading to the more common 10" x 2-1/4" for your brakes on both axles. This will allow you to install the Brake Kit # AKEBRK-35-SA on each of your axles. These brakes are also self-adjusting so there is no need to manually adjust the brakes as they wear. This will require you to also switch to the larger Hub # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K as the brakes will not properly bed into your current hub/drums. When ALKO was acquired by Dexter they stopped manufacturing a lot of different size components which ALKO used.
