Hub & Drum With Electric Brakes Replacement For AL-KO 8700 Hub

Question:

Hi, Just order AKHD-555-35-K to replace the hub on my trailer with the marking AL-KO 8700 on the damaged hubs. Also ordered Item # 23-26-27 for the brake kit. I just want to confirm this is the correct for the trailer. Thank you.

The Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 3,500-lb Axles - 10" Diameter - 5 on 5-1/2 # AKHD-555-35-K will fit the spindle on your trailer to replace your AL-KO 8700 hub, but this does have a 5 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern. My information is the AL-KO 8700 has a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern. BUT if you have or want to use wheels with a 5 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern you are fine with the hub you ordered; if you do have a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern you will need the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 3,500-lb Axles - 10" Diameter - 5 on 4-1/2 # AKHD-545-35-K.

If you aren't sure your bolt pattern, measure the center-to-center distance of adjacent adjacent bolt holes and if it is 2-5/8" you have a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern; if you get 3-1/4" then you have a 5 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern.

With either of these hubs though, you do have the correct brakes with the Dexter Electric Trailer Brake Kit # 23-26-27.
