On the Brite-Lite converter # RM-732 make sure that the white ground wire is attached to a clean metal surface on the vehicle frame (or trailer frame if mounted on a trailer). The problem you are having could be due to an insufficient ground.

Another possibility is that the lights on the output side are drawing more power than the converter can handle. The output side should really only be used for one combined brake/turn signal per side. If there are more lights or a short that could overdraw power through the box and cause it to blow.

To test the output wires you can use a test light such as # PTW2992 with no lights connected to the converter on the output side. Have someone run through the light functions while testing with the test light. If there is power going in but not coming out then that indicates a problem inside the converter and it will need to be replaced.

If there is power going in and coming out then the issue is with the lights on the output side, likely either a bad ground or too much power draw.

I have included a link that can help you troubleshoot.
