How Does 1032802 Mount to Box

Hi, With this replacement Mounting Hardware Kit Item # 1032802, how does it actually mount the box to the cross bar? Does one of those parts go under the crossbar to hold it?

For the Replacement Mounting Hardware for Thule Weekender Cargo Box # 1032802 the reinforcement plate will go on top of the crossbar (but under the box), while the Replacement Quick On/Off Bracket # TH04973 will go underneath it. The tie-down bracket will connect to that with the knobs.

I double checked and the Replacement Mounting Hardware #1032802 will not have every piece needed to do a full replacement on your Karrite 1300 Series roof box. It will definitely fit your roof box, but you will also need Qty.4 of the Replacement…

The original hardware for the Cascade is Replacement QM3 - Quick Mount Hardware #TH04997. There is not currently an option for an upgrade without modifying your box.

According to Thule you can use the QM3 mounting hardware, #TH04997, for the Weekender cargo box. The crossbars on your 1998 Toyota 4Runner will need to be up to 3-5/8 inches wide. I have included a picture that shows how this hardware will install.

You can use the QM3 mounting hardware #TH04997 for the Weekender rooftop cargo box. This will use the carriage bolts as you stated and will fit 4 inch on center holes. I've attached some photos and a video to assist.
