Thule Cascade Cargo Box Replacement Mounting Hardware Recommendation

Question:

This kit looks just like the rusted brackets we recently took apart when removing our 10-year-old Cascade box from a 2004 Subaru Forester that we are trading in. We now want to attach the box to a 2002 Subaru Legacy Outback wagon and need to get new mounting brackets as the old ones are junk that said, they held up for 10 years, rusted beyond belief. The old brackets have the same quick-mount piece with 4inch centered holes, the entire piece being 5 1/8inch in length. The box holes are 4inch centered, as well. The only discrepancy I can see is that the bolt thread length doesnt appear to be 2 3/4, more like 2, but difficult to tell with all the rust. The entire bolt length is 3, as described in this kit, if tip to tipfoot includes the head of the bolt. The Cascade box is 88inch in length, if that helps. It contains plastic pieces to guide the straps that look just like the ones in the kit. Can you please tell me if this kit will work to attach the box to the Outback rack? As far as I can recall, the roof rack cross bars are similar in size to those on the Forester, but the car isnt with us at the moment to check. Im pretty sure that they are less than 3.5inch in diameter.

The original hardware for the Cascade is Replacement QM3 - Quick Mount Hardware # TH04997. There is not currently an option for an upgrade without modifying your box.
