What Sealant Should Be Used When Replacing Adapter Port On DeeMaxx Disc Brake Calipers?

Question:

What type of sealant should be used to install this fitting into the caliper? Not sure if it requires white teflon tape or some type of pipe dope. Thanks

You only want to use a thread sealant like the Permatex 59214 on the NPT side of the Adapter Port # DE73MR where it attaches to the Caliper # DE86VR. This sealant is safe to use on brake components since they reach such high temperatures. Be sure not to use the sealant on the flared fitting side of the connector as it can actually prevent a good seal due to the style of the connection.
