Replacing Knott Brand Brake Calipers And Rotors On A Coyote Boat Trailer With 3,500 lb Axles

Question:

I have a Coyote Boat Trailer with two 3500lb axles. I need to replace all 4 hydraulic disc brake calipers and 10inch disc/hub assemblies. It currently has Knott brakes/calipers etc. Is there a compatible brand to replace Knott with same bolt patterns? I cant seem to locate any cross-referencing guide of any sort. Thank you for any help you may provide.

We do have some options for replacing the Knott calipers and rotors on your Coyote Boat Trailer. We really do not have any info or specs on the Knott brand brakes, but since it is all for a 3,500 lb axle the sizing should be standard. Standard meaning the axle uses the standard 4-bolt brake flange (holes 2-7/8" apart on center), and the hub uses the # L68149 (1.378" inner diameter) inner bearing, and the # L44649 (1.063" inner diameter) outer bearing.

Since there is no kind of cross-referencing guide, your best bet will be to take a few measurements and make sure this matches what you have. If it is all standard, I recommend the following as a replacement:

DeeMaxx Disc Brake Kit # DE66YR

The Deemaxx kit uses a 10" hub/rotor with a 5 on 4-1/2" wheel bolt pattern. The calipers and rotors use a corrosion resistant Maxx coat finish. This coating will have very solid rust resistance and a salt spray rating of over 1,000 hours. There is a stainless steel option # DE46YR which will be the best as far as rust resistance. The only downside of the stainless is they can be a bit pricy. The kits will include all of the bearings, races, grease seals, grease caps, wheel bolts, and lug nuts. Keep in mind it will be one kit per axle.
