How to Determine What Correct Bearing Buddy Fit is for Trailer Hub
Question:
I have a single axle Karavan boat trailer for my Bayliner VR5 bowrider about 20 feet. When I came back from the boat launch yesterday, I noticed that my Bearing Buddy cap is gone, not sure where it fell off. I see that you have some replacements but not sure where you measure it to be sure I have the correct replacement. I measured the inside diameter of the hub and it seems to be about 2 and the outside diameter is about 3. It is hard to get a definite measurement because of the nut and pin in place. I see you have some Bearing Buddys at 1.92. Is that the one that would fit my boat trailer? I can see some number of mine that are KTF 1605 and VZ5 or VTS. Not sure these relate to anything. I dont see any numbers on the other side device since it is still in place. I will probably replace both of them, but want to be sure I get the right ones.

You would need to use a caliper like the part # PTW80157 to measure the bore diameter of your hub where the cap installs to determine what size you would need.
The part # BB1980A-SS that you referenced fits in a bore of 1.98 inch and is a very popular size that has a high likelihood of being correct fit.
I attached a link to a page that has all of the Bearing Buddies we carry if you need a different size.
