What length of 3inch steel tube should I plan to weld into the Demco DM15629-52? I cant find any dimensional information other than that its intended for 3inch tube.

The Demco Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler # DM15629-52 has a 7-3/4" channel from the back of the coupler to the inside lip near the ball latch.
