The Demco Autoslide 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider # DM89GV will fit directly to the OEM pucks on your 2023 Ram 3500 short bed. The only time the Demco 5th Wheel Rail Adapter # DM6099 is needed is if your 5th wheel hitch mounts to raised rails in your truck bed.
