Straps To Reduce Front Tire Movement When Bike Is Mounted on Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack

Question:

We just used our Thule Easy Fold XT on the back of our Sprinter 3500 camper. Whole the van is moving, we see through the rear windows that the bikes handlebars shake a lot. And the tires on the outermost track seem to be rubbing on the rack too. Is the shaking supposed to happen and is the tire rubbing because it is strapped too tightly? Thanks

Since the Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack # TH903202 uses the clamps to secure your bike by the frame the wheel straps only help to keep the wheels on the base. Depending on your tires and how they fit the grooves it can allow for the front wheel to still turn slightly. I recommend using the Utility Straps # HE4084 to connect the front wheel to the frame which will help to reduce the amount the front wheel is allowed to turn. Remember you do not want a strap that pulls too hard as you do not want to risk damage to your wheels.
