Brake Controller Installation on a 2001 Chevy Express 1500 with 7 way plug
Question:
My van came with the 7 way plug already installed at the back. The wires are ran up to the front and we found them zip tied in the engine bay. The colors are orange, blue, and white. The orange wire goes to an inline fuse holder30 amp and a red wire comes out the other side with a large ring terminal on the end. These were loose, as mentioned above, in the engine compartment. My question is how should we connect these wires to the Tekonsha Prodigy controllers harness and/or power/ground/etc? Thanks See attached photo

The blue wire you found will need to be run to the blue wire of the Tekonsha P2 Brake Controller part # 90885 that you referenced. If you need a 12 volt accessory circuit on your trailer connector you will need to connect that red wire to your positive battery post.
I am not sure what the white wire is for, but you could trace it back to see where it terminates on your 7-way and compare it to the diagram I attached to see what its function is. Since it is white there is a good chance it is the ground circuit.
The remaining 3 wires of the # 90885 will need to be ran as well. The red wire of the controller needs to be run to a circuit that only sees voltage when the brakes are applied and none when they are released. To find this circuit you will want to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 and test the functions of the wires that are at the brake pedal.
The black wire will need to be run through a 20 amp circuit breaker like # 9506P to the positive side of your battery and the white wire needs to be grounded to the negative side of your battery.
