Recommended Tire and Wheel Combo for 205/75R14 Tires on a 2016 Nextrail Model NXT 21-23 Boat Trailer
Question:
Hi I have a 2016 Nextrail Model NXT 21-23 tandem boat trailer 4 wheels total. The tires on it now are ST 205/75R14. The boat weighs 5500 lbs 2017 Robalo 247 and it can hold up to 135 gal of fuel. The wheels/tires are standard 5 on 4.5 - 14 tire. Which galvanized wheel/tire combo would you recommend? Potential to trailer the boat 400-500 miles from home, so I want reliable. Replace lug nuts too? Thx!

For a tire and wheel combo that matches what you're looking for I recommend this from Kenda:
- Karrier ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire with 14" Galvanized Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range C # AM32156
Please note that the wheels is the limiting weight capacity factor at 1,870 lbs (putting you at 7,480 lbs for 4 of them) so if you need a higher weight capacity we need to go a different route, like this option from Westlake rated at 2,040 lbs (8,160 lbs total):
- Westlake ST205/75R14 Radial Tire w 14" Liger Aluminum Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - LR D - Black # WST57FR
Then for lug nuts I recommend the Lionshead Trailer Wheel Lug Nut # LHLR103 because it's stainless steel so it will be very effective against corrosion from water.
