Suspension Enhancement for a 2000 Chevy Silverado 2500 Light Duty
Question:
Good morning. My question is that we have a 2000 Chevy Silverado 2500 but it is not a HD we do tow a fifth wheel. Whats the difference between the two suspensions that it will not fit. Or is the a different mounting system that I need. I like the idea that you dont need a air compressor. I am very interested please help.

The heavy duty suspension packages typically include overload springs. This is an additional spring or springs that will be either on top of or on the bottom of the leaf spring stack on a truck. There could also be other components that are different that can cause the truck to ride higher.
Since you do not want to worry about a compressor or adding/removing air I recommend a SuperSprings brand jounce style spring kit, SumoSprings # SSR-211-54. These are helper springs that do not take air and they are maintenance free. They mount to the bottoms of the frame rails and should not interfere with the under bed 5th wheel hitch brackets. And they will fit the light duty 2000 Chevy Silverado 2500.
I have included a link to the installation instructions for you to view.
