Troubleshooting Fault Codes in a Redarc Tow Pro Liberty Installed in a 2022 Toyota 4Runner
Question:
I just installed a tow pro liberty on my 2022 4runner by using the tph-021 harness. I am getting fault codes on the knob but all wiring connections are fine. The fault codes come on intermittently. Do I need to add this product? The REDARC website states that a diode is already in the stock tow package. Seems a bit confusing as I also read on REDARCS website that they recommend using their universal harness by splicing in into jumper harness that came with the vehicle. What exactly do I need to do to have the unit installed properly with no faults?

The easiest way to determine what could be causing the issue with your Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED24FR, installed in your 2022 Toyota 4Runner using the Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness # RED49FR is to check the fault code chart in the installation instructions.
There are a number of different fault codes that indicate the problem and solution. I have included pictures of the fault code chart here for quick reference. If you you need further help with this, please let me know what fault code(s) you are getting.
