Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Troubleshooting Light Only Coming On When Brakes Are Applied
Question:
I installed the Redarc Brake Controller in a 2017 Toyota Highlander and the blue light only comes on if the trailer is hooked up or I push override. The blue light does not come on showing that is calibrating. Is this normal? According to the instructions it seems that the light should always be on.

According to the troubleshooting section of the instructions the controller is telling you that the black power wire is not getting the 12 volts of power from the vehicle. This happens if the in line fuse or circuit breaker goes bad.
Double check that you are getting 12 volt power to the black wire on the controller. If there is no power to the black wire you will need to trace the wire to see where the power disconnects. If you are getting power at the black wire you may have a defective controller.
