Can 5-Spoke Utility Hub Be Replaced with Hub with Standard Bolt Pattern

Question:

Can a 5 lug Dayton style hub be replaced with a modern 5 lug rim? on both an axle with brakes and one without brakes. I want to put larger tires on a dual axle trailer. the tire size is 205/85D14.5 now. I have 6 inch between tires how much bigger can I go to be safe and not have to move the leaf spring brackets

We have some hubs that can replace the 5-Spoke utility-style you're currently using, but they use a 6 lug pattern which actually works out because you'll need to replace your wheels for your tires anyways. To increase your tire size I recommend a 235/80-16 tire (which reduces your clearance by 2" altogether) so for a complete set of parts you'll need the following:

- Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-655-6-K
- Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-655-6-K
- 10-10 Grease or Oil Double-Lip Seals # RG06-090 (per axle)
- 12" Electric Brake Kit # AKEBRK-6
- Provider ST235/80R16 Radial Trailer Tire w/ 16" White Mod Wheel # TA39VR
