Troubleshooting Trailer Brakes Activating with Running Lights On and Using Curt Spectrum

Hi install a curt 51170 brake controller it works fine but when i turn on the trucks running lights is is activating the brake with out the brake being used??

The Curt Spectrum Trailer Brake Controller # C51170 shouldn't be connected to your running light circuit in any way, shape, or form which leads me to believe that either your tow vehicle or your trailer 7-Way connector has some wires touching inside. You'll want to take them apart and make sure none of the wires are crossing over to other pins and placing power on a circuit that shouldn't be getting power.
