Can a Weight Distribution Hitch Be Used With Stealth Hitches Receiver On a 2017 Volvo XC90?
Question:
Hello, can this trailer hitch be used in conjunction with a weight distribution system? I have a Volvo XC90 and will be buying a used Airstream 16’ that includes a weight distribution hitch.

The Stealth Hitches Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver w/ Towing Kit # SH27FRT along with all other receivers for your 2017 Volvo XC90 are not able to be used with a weight distribution hitch system. You will most likely need a 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # C40005 to replace the 2" ball included with the receiver. Or you can get a 2nd Ball Mount # 391BMU5S if you will be towing multiple trailers.
The Autowbrake Electric Brake Controller # 3430001 is going to be the simplest brake controller to use with your Volvo. This connects to the trailer and uses a remote fob to make adjustments to the amount of braking force applied.
To help deal with sway issues you can use the Tuson Asymmetric Sway Control # 335TSC-1000. This gets mounted to your trailer and uses the electric brakes to reduce trailer sway.
