Proper Way to Attach Weight Distribution Snap Up Brackets to Trailer Frame
Question:
Item 58392 and most other snap-up brackets have holes at the outside bottom for I would assume bolts. My old system early 90s was bolted to A-frame of trailer. Newer type I see most people do not have any bolts attaching to frame, other than bolt on inside of A-frame. Why or why not have snap brackets bolts to frame?

Expert Reply:
According to my Reese representative, although a set bolt on the inside of the trailer frame is the primary method of attachment, they also recommend using the bolt holes on the face of the snap up bracket. This will make for the most secure and dependable installation. Reese offers the # 58459 bolts for attaching the snap-up brackets to the trailer frame.
