Roof Thickness Require To Install A Furrion AC System In A 1968 Airstream Trailer
Question:
I have a 1968 Airstream and need to replace the a/c. Im looking at the Furrion brand that you offer. In doing some research on Airstream forums some folks reported they had issues with the Furrion needing to be bracketed because the Airstream roof was too thin. Have you had any complaints around this issue? Thank you

Units like the Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System # FR52PR require a 3.5" to 6" thick roof so you may have to build a spacer to get to the correct thickness if your Airstream roof is too thin. We usually just make frame out of plywood around the cutout hole to increase the thickness and then just paint it to match the ceiling.
