Recommended Padlock to Use with the Spare Tire Carrier for Yakima Roof Cargo Baskets

Dear eTrailer, I am thinking to purchase the Spare Tire Carrier for Yakima Roof Cargo Baskets - Lockable Item # Y07076, but have some question, I hope you can help. Can you please recommend or advise as to a suitable padlock that can be used with this carrier. I wish to lock it and want the best kind of padlock that will fit well, and will be suitable for outside use without rattling or scraping the metal on the carrier. I would be happy to help. The Spare Tire Carrier for Yakima Roof Cargo Baskets # Y07076 can use any padlock that has a shackle diameter of 1/4".
While there isn't really a padlock that is going to perfectly address all of your concerns (suitable for outside, no rattle and no scraping), the Bauer Products Padlock # BA46VR is our best option.
The Bauer Products Padlock # BA46VR has the 1/4" diameter shackle that is needed, but also features a steel shackle that resists corrosion and a black protective casing that extends past the lock cylinder to keep the lock clear of dirt and debris. The black casing is also going to help with the scraping and take some of the rattle noise out.
