Can 10 Inch, 3,500 lb Electric Brakes Work With 12 Inch Wheels

Question:

hi, i want to convert my fresh water boat trailer from surge breaks to electric. trailer has 2 axles, gvwr is 5400lbs, wheels are 12in small wheels for ponton boat trailer and drums are 10in. i think the breaks are 10in by 2 1/4in. what electric breaks will fit? i looked at a fee 10in ones and they do not mention 12 in wheels. i think it does not make a difference but wanted to check. thanks

The wheel size won't matter in regards to the electric brakes actually fitting your hub and drum. Since you have a 10 x 2-1/4 drum you can use the 3,500 lb Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Self-Adjusting # AKEBRK-35-SA.

These don't come with the mounting hardware though so you'll need that as well, the Mounting Hardware for 10" Brake Assemblies # BRKH10B.
