Can 26 Inch 3,500 lb Leaf Springs be Replaced With 4,000 lb Leaf Springs

Question:

I just have a quick question about leaf spring replacement. I have a boat trailer that I want to replace the springs on which is a 3500# axle with 5 leaf 26” double eye springs. You have 4000# 4 leaf and a 4500# 6 leaf replacement that will both fit. I feel that the boat is at about the max for the trailer, capacity wise. Should I go with the 6 leaf or the slightly lighter 4 leaf? Any insight would be helpful. Thanks

I definitely recommend replacing your 3,500 lb 26 inch leaf springs with the 26 inch 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 4,000-lb Trailer Axles # e22YR.

The 4,500 lb would be too stiff and your ride would suffer so the better option by far are the 4k springs.
