What Should My Trailer Tires Be Aired to When Setting Out for a Trip?

Question:

How much psi over maximum tire pressure is allowable? My daily pre-trip ritual is to make sure the tires are set at the maximum cold pressure before starting the trip. I regularly see 10 to 15 psi over my max cold tire pressure setting during a trip. I get nervous about them being over 10 psi during the trip so I will bleed them back to a max of 10 psi over the cold tire pressure during travel. I do not believe this is a common practice, but it seems like a logical practice.

I'm not entirely sure, however what I can say to be safe you should just air your trailer tires to the maximum cold PSI rating that's written on the sidewall of your tires.

The TireMinder i10 TPMS for RVs and Trailers w/ Signal Booster # TM89FR is a great tool that would help you monitor your tires pressure to make sure they're properly aired up.
