Recommended Under Bed 5th Wheel Hitch System for a 2023 Chevy Silverado 2500

I purchased a 2023 Chevy 2500HD crew cab 4x4. It doesn’t have the fifth wheel prep package. I want to install underbed puck system rails like the OEM prep package. Is there anyone that makes this currently?

I have a solution for you but there are no aftermarket puck systems available for your 2023 Silverado. That part is a factory option only. Instead you will want the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch item # BWGNRK1020. This system mounts beneath your truck bed similar to the oem prep package. It will provide you with a square gooseneck ball receiver that can be used as a mounting point to attach the B&W Companion item # BWRVK3400-5W.

The B&W Companion item # BWRVK3400-5W has a 20,000 lbs capacity and the slider base will give you 12" of travel for making tight turns and backing. B&W makes the best hitches in the towing business. The Companion's 1" thick dual jaws will give you a 360-degree jaw to kingpin contact. This system minimizes the chucking, jarring and noise that can occur when towing a 5th wheel trailer.

If your 5th wheel trailer has a rotating pin box you will want the B&W Companion item # BWRVK3500.

To make towing with a 5th wheel easier I recommend adding the Demco 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness w/ 7-Pole Connector - 10' Long item # DM8555002. This harness puts a 7-way connector in the bed of your truck and allows you to keep the one on your bumper. This makes hooking up to your 5th wheel trailer easier and more convenient.

You will have to go with a sliding hitch to allow the trailer to make tight turns. For a trailer 8 feet wide the only bed length that's going to allow 90 degree turns without a slider is a stationary hitch. That being said you have two options.…
