Can Longer Yakima Crossbars be Used on 2023 Honda HR-V For Thule Hullavator

Question:

Hello, I have a 2023 Honda HRV with a naked roof. I also own a Thule Hullavator. I believe I found a Yakima system on your site that would be compatible, but had a couple questions if you would please. Currently have the Y00427, Y28TR, Y06159 and Y06181 in my cart. First Question: what is the reasoning behind the 2 different Fit Kits? Y06159 VS Y06181 Second Question: Your site recommended Y00425 but I decided to get Y00427 for the extra length required by the Hullavator. Do you see an issue with getting longer bars with the other parts Ive selected? Any help would be much appreciated.

You can definitely use longer Yakima crossbars on your 2023 Honda HR-V for the Thule Hullavator Pro # TH898, but don't go all the way to the 70 inch # Y00427, as these are 20 inches longer than the recommended # Y00425 and will stick out way too much on your HR-V. So instead use the 60 inch Yakima JetStream Crossbars # Y00426.

Then to complete the rack set up on your '23 HR-V you do have the right parts with the BaseLine Towers # Y28TR, and Fit Kits # Y06159 & # Y06181.

In regards to your other question, the reason for the different fit kits is the different curvature of the roof of your HR-V, which these kits will accommodate. And finally, I did want to mention that if you want to lock the Yakima roof rack to your HR-V for security, you can do so with Lock Cores # Y07204.
