Availability Of Removable Connector For Black Wire Of Curt Harness C56349 To Make It Removable

Question:

Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector Item # C56349 Good morning-I always have issues with the black module failing after a couple of years. What I find that works best for me is to take the whole connector off the truck for the winter. I would like to keep the wire that runs from the battery to the back of the truck on the vehicle all year and not remove it. I would like to a plug at the end of this wire that I can plug into the black wire from the connector at the back of the truck. Is there a one wire plug that would work for this situation? Thanks

The easiest way is to use the Hopkins 2-pole # HM47965, as there isn't a single pole connector version of this.

You'll cut it in half, and use butt connectors # DW05744-5 to install the plug in line of the black power wire in your Curt Wiring Harness # C56349.

The connector has two wires, red and white, it doesn't matter which wire you hook the black wire to, just make sure you wire the black wire to the same color wire on both sides, and just leave the other wire unused.

I made a rough diagram that will show you what it'll look like the help out.
