Is There An RV Air Conditioner That Can Run Off Of 12v Power From The Tow Vehicle
Question:
Do you have a unit that can run off vehicle power and use a transfer switch to run off a generator when stationary?

RV air conditioners require a lot of power to start and run so there really isn't a way to run a unit solely off of battery power or even the 12v's that would come through the 7-way on your vehicle without a MASSIVE battery bank along with an appropriately rated inverter. The only way you'll really be able to run a unit like the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System # ACM135C you were looking at would be to use a generator or hook into shore power.
The only realistic option to run off of 12v power would be a roof vent like the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # MA00-07500K. This specific model has 10 speeds, powered lift/remote control, and has a lid designed to allow you to use the vent during travel or during inclement weather unlike most other models. If you'd like to explore this option then just let me know what your preferences are (color, powered or manual lift, thermostat mode, etc) and I can find the right option for you.
