Correct Gauge Wire Needed for Trailer Electric Brakes

For these electric brakes it looks like 22g wire connected. What is the best wire size to run to the front of the trailer? anything over 12g seems a waste.

We always recommend going with 10 Gauge Wire # 10-1-1 for the electric brakes. Technically 12 Gauge should work but since the wiring has to run a ways we go with the mindset that a slightly larger wire might possibly let a little more power through and give you a better connection.

You'll want to use heat shrink butt connectors # DW05745-10 for this installation.
