How To Choose Correct Replacement Leaf Springs for a 2003 Keystone Springdale Travel Trailer

Question:

I am trying to replace leaf springs on a 2003 keystone Springdale, my measurement is 26.5”. My trailer sits really low and I scrape the ground with small inclines. I added pictures in hopes that you could advise me in whether my springs are worn out, if I might need new mounting hardware or whatever advice you could give.

It does appear that the leaf springs on your 2003 Keystone Springdale Travel Trailer are worn and need replaced. In order to find the correct replacement leaf springs you first need to start by noting the type whether that be slipper or double eye. Then, you'll need to measure their unloaded length via jacking up the trailer. If the springs are worn they will measure longer than their replacement. Lastly, you will need to note the axle capacity which is found on the tag in the center of the beam. Please note, the number of leaves does not really denote capacity as leaves have different thicknesses. Once you have all this info you can choose the correct replacement from the list below using the closest measurements. The springs should be replaced in pairs as well. The 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles part # e54SR is a pretty common replacement measuring 25-1/8". Unfortunately, we have no way to look up leaf springs for any one particular trailer.

In regards to replacing other components, you could if you wanted to but you don't need to. I would inspect the shackle straps to make sure the holes are not oblong and your equalizer bushings. If you want to throw a bunch of money at it and replace everything, we can certainly do that for you but check these key areas first and that will let you know how to proceed.
