In order to measure for a new set of trailer leaf springs you'll need to jack the trailer up and let the axles hang freely, then you can measure the unloaded length eye to eye. Once you get the correct length you can obtain the axle capacity which is found by checking the axle tag. The 3-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 4,000-lb Trailer Axles part # e57SR for example measures 25-1/4" long and is for a 3,500 lb axle.
