Can You Install Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Brake Controller on 2022 Ford Bronco Without Splicing

Question:

I am looking for a way to install a 7 pin trailer electrical connector on my 2022 Bronco Wildtrak not the sport model. I also want to use the Redarc TowPro Elite brake controller. I do not want to connect to the existing LED tail lights which do not have enough power and I want to be able to control trailer brakes. I also do not want to splice any wires. Step 13 and 16 of the etrailer EBC7 procedure require this. Redarc sells a connector to an existing wire harness TPH-007. I have no idea how it controls the brakes. Redarc sells a Tekonsha adapter TPH-017. I have no idea how a 4 wire connector would be able to do anything with trailer brakes. Tekonsha sells a wiring harness model 22127 that connects to a Tekonsha controller. I do not want a Tekonsha brake controller. Thanks.

In order to install the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Brake Controller part # RED63RR on a 2022 Ford Bronco you'll first need the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers part # 22292 which will make for a plug and play install up at the front of the vehicle. Then, you'll need a 4-way and 7-way adapter at the rear for which I recommend both the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C42WR and 4 to 7-Way with 4-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. The factory brake controller wires should terminate somewhere under the rear bumper and you'll need to attach these to the adapter to complete the install.

The other option we have is to go with the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller part # C51180 which won't require as much wiring, you'd need the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C42WR and 4 to 7-Way with 4-Way Adapter part # ETBC7L for this option.
