Completing the 12 Volt Power Circuit for Trailer Wiring on a 2006 GMC Sierra 2500HD
Question:
2006 GMC 2500HD 6.0L Is the fuse that is talked about in the power distrubution box for chargeing trailer batterys have a red plug in it. Every thing works at the 7 way plug except the charge pin. I didnt what to mess something up by putting a fuse in it. Thanks

Yes, GM sometimes uses a red plug or dummy fuse in place of an actual fuse for the trailer battery charge circuit. I have attached a video on a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado that shows the red dummy fuse. You can move to the 2 minute and 20 second mark to see our installer replace the dummy fuse. You will want to replace the plug with a 40-amp fuse.
