Does The Yakima EXO Require a Hitch Extension When Using On a 2022 Ford Bronco With Rear Spare Tire?
Question:
Do you know if this will work on the back of a 2022 Ford Bronco? I have a gate mounted spare tire on the back? If not, do you think it would be okay to use a hitch extension? Thanks

The Yakima EXO Swing Away Ski and Snowboard Carrier w/ Enclosed Cargo Carrier # Y94ZR will require a measurement of 8" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the spare tire on your 2022 Ford Bronco. You can add the Yakima StraightShot Hitch Extension # Y69VR which will allow you 15-1/4" from the hitch pin hole center to the rear of your spare tire. This is the only extension Yakima approves for use with the EXO system.
Another option you may consider is the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT37GR. This will replace your factory receiver and places the hitch pin center hole 3-1/2" behind the rear edge of your bumper. This will likely reduce the need for the extension above and place the receiver where it is easier to access for use when towing.
